Patina

Natural Calk Patina is a thick emulsion made from vegetable oils and natural resins, specifically formulated for floor treatment, particularly parquet. Its ingredients are strictly of plant origin, ensuring a 100% natural finish. Thanks to its cobalt- and MEKO-free formula, Natural Calk Patina is an eco-friendly and safe product, also suitable for DIY use.

Scope and Product Application

Before applying Natural Calk Patina, the floor must be properly prepared by removing dust and impurities using a vacuum cleaner and an antistatic or damp cloth, after sanding with fine-grit abrasive paper.

Shake the can to homogenize any settled particles, then apply the product evenly using a roller, sponge, or squeegee, pressing lightly to help the product penetrate into the wood.

A single coat of Natural Calk Patina may be sufficient. However, if needed, a light second coat can be applied after one hour, wiping off any excess with absorbent paper.

To ensure optimal drying, it is recommended to apply small amounts of the product. The floor will be dry to the touch in about one hour and fully dry within 24 hours, depending on climatic conditions and applied thickness.

Maximum liquid resistance will be achieved after 15 days, once the oxidation and carbonation process are complete.

Features and Benefits

Natural Calk Patina offers several benefits, including a long-lasting and resistant finish.

Maintenance

To clean floors treated with Natural Calk Patina, use cotton cloths to remove dust, avoiding microfiber cloths, which may remove the finish.

Periodic cleaning of the floor should be carried out using CALKSAP, a gentle soap specifically designed to preserve the finish. Avoid harsh cleaners or commercial soaps like “Marseille soap,” which could damage the appearance of the treatment.

Avvertenze

In low ambient temperatures, the drying time of Natural Calk Patina may be longer. The final aesthetic result can be evaluated only after 2–3 days from application, and the surface will be walkable after 24 hours. Mechanical resistance and stain protection will be fully optimized after 15 days.

Unlike other commercial oils, cloths soaked with Natural Calk Patina are not subject to spontaneous combustion, but must still be disposed of in accordance with waste regulations. Coverage varies depending on the absorption of the floor and the application technique, with an average yield of 25–30 m² per litre.

It is essential to exclusively use Natural Calk products at every stage of the Tillica Pasta System in order to preserve the system’s properties and ensure its full effectiveness.

The company is responsible for the product up to the point of shipment from the Arte e Mestieri Srl warehouse/supplier premises.
